CACTUS Academy is a social justice leadership development program for first-year Tulane undergraduate students and first-year transfer students.  It provides a survey-level introduction to a broad spectrum of issues in the social justice arena and connects participants to organizations and advocates working on the Tulane campus and throughout the New Orleans local community.

TESTIMONIES

“I really enjoyed the size of the program. I know that in reality, the cohorts tend to be a little bigger, but I think smaller cohorts of about 10 people allow for more intimate conversations and also allow you to connect closer with the speaker. I really enjoyed the workshop we did on the first day and wish we had done more!”

– Tum-Tum Adeleye (Spring 2023 Cohort)

“I think all of the speakers brought something interesting to the cohort, and I appreciated hearing from all of them. I particularly appreciated Javier Lopez Casertano and feel like the information he gave was very helpful for someone who is constantly applying to different things. The skills he talked about will be extremely useful for me in years to come”

– Alex Sharp (Spring 2023 Cohort)
